Sacred Moments on the Edge of Life
 

AFTER 15 YEARS, TWO GREEKS REUNITE THROUGH ART & MUSIC

More than 15 years ago, Evangelia Phillippidis and George Skaroulis met as neighboring artist vendors at the Columbus Ohio Greek Festival. They immediately clicked, became friends, and discovered a natural creative connection through their shared Greek heritage and love of the arts.

Although they only occasionally communicated on social media,  fifteen years later, they reunited at the same place their friendship had first begun to collaborate for : THRESHOLDS – Sacred Moments on the Edge of Life.
 

Created by artist Evangelia Phillippidis and Argerie Vasilakes, THRESHOLDS is an immersive exhibition exploring loss, memory, transition, and the profound passages of life. The  art exhibition is accompanied by music performed and curated by pianist and composer George Skaroulis, who created a soundtrack to the visual journey. The exhibition premiered at the annual Columbus, Ohio Greek Festival, September 4–7, 2026, bringing their two creative worlds together once again.

At the heart of the musical collection is George Skaroulis’s new original single, “Thresholds,” inspired by Evangelia’s artwork and the emotional themes of the exhibition.
 

What began more than 15 years ago as a friendship between two neighboring Greek Festival artists has come full circle—through an unexpected reunion and a shared belief in the power of art and music to express what words sometimes cannot.

Some moments are too profound for words. Sometimes, art and music can say what words cannot.
